4ths are safe after big win at Nossegem,Ladies 1 win league by 7 points(21/4/2018) Sticky

Last games of the season and the 4ths game against Nivelles was the key match as we needed a point to avoid relegation. With a lot of support on the sidelines game started and expectations were high especially as we had beaten the same team 6 - 1 a few weeks ago. They were much stronger this time but only managed to have 10 men. Surprisingly they took the lead and we were up against it but the boys batlled to get back into the game and were rewarded with the equaliser when Thomas S shot home at the far post. We then took the lead through Manu. Mihai added a 3rd to put us in the driving seat. A few minutes from the end we scored a fourth when Manu scored his second of the game from the penalty spot. Well done guys and to captain Yann supporting from China.

1sts,who had given up the top pitch to the 3rds, played against Gecko who were already relegated from Div 1. A solid performance as we won without difficulty by 4-1. Nick(2),Mika and Andrea the scorers

2nds drew 1-1 with JAFT.

3rds,who had been moved to the top pitch following their championship win, played against Friends Spirit. The spirit was certainly with the opposition as we couldn't get into our rhythm and went behind early in the 1st half. We had chances but it was not up to the usual level and in fact the opposition could have scored more .

Final score 0-1.

After the match there were plenty of celebrations with the drink flowing and the barbecue food proving popular. A great season nonetheless and congratulations all round to the 3rd team squad for winning the title and having the best defensive record in Abssa.

Vets 1 and Vets 2 played Brussels LTC but both were defeated by 2-1 and 4-2 respectively.

Ladies 1 finished their campaign with a 1 0 win away to Perwez . Conditions were too hot for good football as tiredness crept in but Virg's goal was the difference . Remarkable achievement for Virg to finish top scorer for the 5th successive season with 35 goals. Ladies were unbeaten in 2018 and won the P1 league by 7 points.

Brabant Cup Final on May 1 will be the last game of the season for Ladies 1. More details soon

Ladies 2 play later.

1sts win Cup match Sticky

With only 1 men's game today focus was on the 1sts Cup match against No Boys ,champions of Div 3B who will be playing in Div 2 next season. They looked up for it as they started very brightly. We were on our game though and Nick finished off a good move to put us 1 0 ahead after 10 minutes. We increased our lead when Mika hit a great free kick in the top corner to make it 2 0 at half time. Opposition still threatened and were keen to get on the score sheet but the defence stood firm. Game was put to bed when Nick scored his second to put us 3 up. A flurry of substitiutions in the 2nd half but we still kept up the pressure on them and Nick completed his hattrick to make it 4-0. About 5 minutes from the end Nair took the ball inside and struck a wonderful shot to close out the game 5 0. MOTM was shared between hattrick Nick and Thomas Earl for his good defensive performance.

Ladies 2 ,strengthened by a few 1st team players won 2 1 against FM Uccle. We had many chances and could have won by more goals but a win moves us up the table.

Vets1 safe and 4ths almost safe after 6 1 wins (7/4/2018) Sticky

Vets 1 won 6-1 away to Brussels LTC to secure their Div 1 status. Strengthened by Sigve who scored 5 goals they easily overcame the opposition. Ollie scored the other goal. Congratulations to Captain David who has had a very tough time trying to get teams out every week. Gracias David. Well done to all the players who produced the goods when it mattered.

4ths also secured a massive win against fellow strugglers Nivelles to win by 6-1. They quickly went 3 0 up and were able to control the game. Manu had a great game scoring 2 and providing 1 assist. Everybody played great in front of the Director of Football Mr Staunton. We will see how results pan out later but a win in the last game against the same opposition will secure our place in Div 4. Match was followed closely minute by minute by Captain Yann who was thousands of miles away in the US.!!

1sts were up against relegation strugglers Gecko at Nossegem and played out a 0 0 draw.

2nds had another good win. On a sunny day in Flanders, the guys  put in a thoroughly professional performance to cast aside a solid J.A.F.T. side on a difficult pitch. Thomas Peeters expertly put away the first goal from a sumptuous Hans Lauwers assist (also known as the Flemish 'Aansluiting'). Thomas then turned provider and whipped in a ball for Sean to put away. The second saw FC Irlande continue the good effort and after good work by Gab down the left flank, Sean rounded the keeper to make it 3-0.

3rds,Champions of Div 4A  won 1-0...  With just 11 players today,  the team spirit was excellent for continue our run of victories,  keep our best defense... We scored early with a nice move with Ionut and a head of Nicolas ( why our central défense was there ?)... The first half was in control and some nice move from Pierre and Virgil open their defense...  The second half was a copy of first,  a total control of our defense Nicolas and Bruno,  and a midfield Piet Rafa who decide the match...  final score 1-0 and motm Nicolas..   3RDS HAVE THE BEST DEFENCE IN THE WHOLE OF ABSSA ONLY CONCEDING 11 GOALS. With one game left on April 21st let's hope they keep this record as well as being champions. Well done guys

Vets 2 were also playing Brussels LTC and lost a tight game by 3-2. On a very bumpy pitch football was difficult to play . Goals from Michael P and Pascal and  a welcome return from Captain Bart who has been out for months with injury

Ladies 1 do the double winning the Brabant Cup Sticky

After last week's triumph in winning the league FCI Ladies again faced the same opposition Jodoigne in the final of the Brabant ACFF Cup at Auderghem. Missing a few of their regular players it was always going to be a tight affair. 2 forced substitutions in the first 30 minutes made things even more difficult but we managed to take the lead. There were chances at both ends and it was no surprise when Jodoigne equalised to make it 1 1 at half time.

The 2nd half was very tough with Jodoigne having the better of the game and Clara was the busier of the 2 keepers. Tiredness crept in for both teams and when the final whistle went no more goals were scored so it ended 1-1. Both teams were probably glad that there would be no extra time played and we went straight to a penalty shootout. With Clara making 2 great saves with her feet and other shots missing the goal we came through 2-0 on penalties scored.

Fantastic achievement by the team. Congratulations. Thanks to everybody who came out to support.

There were 3 rearranged fixturesfor the men's teams.

1sts went down 2-1 away to Tourinnois. Had plenty of chances to get something from the game but defensive errors proved costly. 2nds drew 0-0. Vets 2 won 6-2 at home in Nossegem.

3rds,already promoted, won 2-0 today.and following Sicula's defeat are CHAMPIONS !! Congratulations to Francois and his squad.  Very engaged and well managed match,  All players were very committed...   During the first half,  in front of our president,  we  have practiced our usual football of possession and our midfield totally controlled the match.  First step was done and the second half started for kill the score...  It was done with Ionut (after his injury) from a corner...  The tactical change  after with Rodrigo as striker for AJ, totally broken but fighting as usual, and Paddy on in his place...  And the changes paid off...  Rodrigo scored the second goal for give us the victory... With the second assist of Marius ...  Motm Piet and Rodrigo..   As usual when our midfield is on fire,  no way for the opposition...  From J.Cruyff

4ths lost 2-1. Goal from Manu in first half. 0-1 at at halftime. Then we somehow lost our grinta and brains. Played a well organized, agressive team, good on free kicks.Guess what happened...? A blow to our hopes of staying up but still we will fight for it.

Vets 1 drew their match against Tourinnois 4-4. It was a game they should have won to ease their relegation fears. Strengthened by the inclusion of Sigve  they had the lead 3 times at 2-1,3-2 and 4-3 but the opposition equalised with just a minute left. Goals Sigve (2),David MG and Ollie

Vets 2 lost 2-1 against Chenois. A fairly even first half with a couple of chances at either end. Ken making some super stops. They took the lead early in the 2nd half and we were striggling to get back. Following some defensive sloppiness by them the ball came to Antonio V and hit a beatiful left footed shot over the keeper to equalise. We were back in it but not for long as almost immediately they went up the other end and their centre forward finished off a great move to put them back in front and that was how it stayed .

Ladies 1 play their biggest game of the season tomorrow in Jodoigne at 11.15 am. If they draw or win they will be champions of Brabant P1

Date : Sunday March 25th : KO 11.15am
