1sts and 3rds gain important victories (02.12.2017) Sticky

1sts were playing away against MTM in Rosieres. We started well and had a couple of chances but after 25 minutes it was the opposition who took the lead when they scored after a breakaway. Their lead didn't last long as Nair sent over a great corner and Nick headed in to make it 1-1. We were playing well but MTM always looked dangerous . Just before the break they took the lead again when their forward was allowed to chest down the ball and setup a shot into the corner to make it 2-1 at half time. Poor goal to concede. After the break we again equalised when Sigve put Nick through one on one and he calmly slotted it into the corner to make it 2-2. All 3 subs came on and about 5 -10 minutes from the end we got the winner when they gave the ball away and Karim scored. Last few minutes were tense as they went for the equaliser but we held out and took home a valuable 3 points.

2nds drew 1-1 in a tightly contested game out in chilly Rixensart. After conceding cheaply inside the first 15 minutes we responded just before half time through Sean after good work by Neil. Decent result but we felt we could have got more out of the game. Goal: Sean. Booked: Thomas Earl, Euan.

3rds were engaged in a top of the table clash against Sicula . The home game in Nossegem was marred with a lot of fouls and we were pleased to see that a top referee had been assigned to the return  match. Both teams started well and the game was played at a fast pace. After 12 minutes we were awarded a penalty which Stefan dispatched giving the keeper no chance. 1- 0 and that's how it stayed at half time. Rodrigo came on for Gregor and the 2nd half was very much like the first with the two teams battling away and chances at either end. Francois made a number of great saves. Quite a few yellow cards were shown and one of their players got a red but the referee had a firm control of the game. Less than 10 minutes from the end nerves were eased when the ball was crossed to top scorer Ionut in the box and he made no mistake to put us 2 up. More chances for us with Sergiu rattling the crossbar to nearly make it 3. Final score 0-2 and we now go 5 points clear at the top. Great team spirit again with everybody fighting for every ball as if their life depended upon it.

4ths were very focused, concentrated and agressive to draw against the top of the league. We played very tight and defended very well. On top of that we had a wall as keeper so the opponent had no chance to score. We could have lost that fight at the last second but our keeper saved a penalty. On the other hand we had 2-3 nice counter-attaks in the last 10 minutes that could have also brought us the 3 points. At the end, well deserved point that will count at the end!!”................

Vets1 lost 6:4. First half to forget. At 5 1 down at half time  the machine started to roll in the 2nd half  and  had it lasted 90 minutes, we might have drawn. Ollie  and Emanuel (2 goals each). Great spirit in 2nd half.  MOTM Emanuel.

Vets2 put in a very solid performance to earn a draw away at league leaders Etincelle. Great effort by the entire team. Luuk could have nicked a winner late in  the second but a draw was just reward in the end for a good tactical performance, hard work and effort. MoTM Pietro for a very good display at left full. Good displays by debut man Patrick and surprise guest Antonio Nobre

Ladies 1 won 4 1. Very good 1st half. 3 0 at half time. 2nd half was less intense where we were mostly in control  also because of the cold. Big game next week against RAS Jodoigne.

Ladies 2 played later in the  evening at Auderghem and were involved in another thrilling game. They faced a good opponent Chastres at home. After 15minutes it was 1-1. The team spirit was there and ladies were dominating the game with a great 5-1. But at the end Chastres came back and the game ended 5-5. Great spirit and great game!

3rds win in last minutes to stay top,1sts draw against league leaders (25/11/2017) Sticky

1sts played leaders Jefke, one of 3 games at Stade Fallon today, and in an excellent game came away with a 0 0 draw. In the first 2 minutes of the game both sides had chances to score and it looked like we would have a high scoring game but defences were on top. Both sides played some good football and we probably just edged it in terms of chances but it ended all square. MOTM Darragh with a number of great saves

2nds lost 4 1 away to Coin du Balai which ended their recent good run. Cold and rainy day for this important game between the 1st team of the league (us) and the 4th, Coin du Balais. We lost the ball after kicking it off and conceded after 10 seconds, for what must be the fastest goal of history for FC Irlande, and the start of a difficult game. Then came back after a fantastic one touch move Dastan-Rado-Adrien-Neil-Thomas S, brilliant goal! However, the team in front was fitter than us, and put more envy and pressure in the game. 1-1 at half time though, with a domination for Coin du Balais. Hard 2nd half, with 3 goals conceded in the last 20 minutes, with quick moves and too slow reactions on our side.

Final score: 1-4 for this too poor game.

Goal: Thomas S Assist: Neil  MOM: Antonio

3rds,also playing at Stade Fallon were playing Martin who were 3rd just a few points behind in what promised to be a tight match. We took the lead in the 1st half when Sergiu latched on to a loose ball and drove in a great shot . Half time 1 0 and we were playing well. In the 2nd half we held the lead despite the opposition coming close but about 10 minutes from the end they scrambled in a goal and it was all square. The team then showed its spirit by going for ithe winner and we came very close. As the minutes ticked by it looked like it would stay that way but with one last effort the ball again broke to Sergiu on the edge of the area and he lashed it into the net to make it 2 1. What a finish as they held on for another few minutes to win the game. Great effort from all 14 players and what team spirit to win the game. On top of Div 4A and a good chance they will stay there.

4th won 5-2 on a tiki-taka style with panache. The team finally delivered after 5 consecutive lost games. Goals: Juan (x2), Jeremie, Javi, Patrick.

Vets 1 ,the 3rd team to play at Stade fallon today, were up against the unbeaten league leaders Jefke and were well beaten by 6 goals to nil. It took them though over 20 minutes to score the 1st goal as we defended well but after that it was one way traffic.

Vets 2  won 1 0 away to Cornac

Ladies 1 won 3 0 against Stephanois. We dominated the game but struggled to put away our chances. Got the goals in the end and another 3 points to keep us challenging at the top.

Ladies 2 had as opponent Ixelles who had one point more in the ranking. The Ladies in green came to the game with a winning and fighting spirit. A great and equal 2-2 ended the game. But the Ladies fought till the end and won another point.

Ladies 1 back to winning ways,3rds keep rolling on at the top (18/11/2017) Sticky

After 2 defeats Ladies 1 started the weekend off well when they won 1-4 on a very very cold Friday night: 1st half we played poorly but went up 0-3, second half much better. 2 goals for Virginie. A very much needed victory. Now we enjoy the team building in the Ardennes !!

1sts were engaged in a top of the table clash with Portugal. These games are usually very feisty and this was no exception. We went ahead in the 1st half when a free kick from Sylvain squirmed through the goalkeeper's grasp to put us 1 0 up. We couldn't make the advantakge count and they equalised after a scramble in the goalmouth. 1-1 at half time . 2nd half was fairly even with good chances for both sides but there was no more scoring and it finished 1-1.  MOM Sigve

2nds followed the 1sts and it also ended in a draw. 'On a day when FC Irlande 2 was far superior technically the opposition proved very resilient in defence and so with Irlande lacking intensity the game ended in a drab 0-0 with chances far and few between..a great clean sheet again but we were left disappointed after creating good half chances. MOTM Thomas Earl'

3rds won today 2-0...  If all our player arrived on time for the advanced kick off time ,  it was not the case of our opponent and referee, and on top of this they decided to provide their ref...  In an epic match with à lot of problem on the pitch, à lot of fault and parody of ref,  Stefan scored on free kick and in second half with à nice move Marius too...  Hard match for staying on the top of league with à ref totally out of his match....  Hard to stay quiet in this case...  Motm Piet for his work in midfield and Bruno very closed

4th lost both 0-3 and their spirit. Not a game to be proud of. Opposition was serious and played with their brains and strong sides. Definitely came to win. We did not.

Vets 1 were facing a daunting task when they faced  Forestois, one of the top sides . Missing a number of players as well they battled hard and kept Forestois from scoring for the first 20 minutes or so. They then though scored 3 goals in pretty quick succession and took complete control of the game. 2nd half they continued to dominate and missed a number of good chances but they scored twice again late on in the game to make it 0-5 at the end. The team put in a lot of effort to contain them and can be proud of their efforts.

Vets2 won 5-0 after a very good team performance. Could have been 7 or 8, such was the extent of the domination. Two nil at half time through Pascal and Oscar. Second half was better still with more goals by Oscar, Jorg and Matt Williams, lobbing 2 defenders after a clearance by the goal keeper. Icing on the cake was the clean sheet. Next up are top of the league Etincelle. Joint MOTM Oscar and Terry

Ladies 2 played on Sunday morning in an amazing match where there were plenty of goals and the lead changed many times. At the end honours were even as the game finished 6-6.

Ladies 1 lose their unbeaten home record (11/11) Sticky

Ladies 1 were missing 3 or 4 key players as they  faced rivals Perwez at Auderghem. They got off to a bad start conceding 2 goals in the first 20 minutes. It was then an uphill struggle as they had to get back in the game against a good side who had some fast forwards. Ariane brought us back in the game when she scored with a great shot to reduce the arrears. Half time 1-2 but we were getting our game together and confident of evening things up. In the 2nd half we continued our improvement  without dominating but unfortunately the opposition scored again and it finished 1-3. This defeat cost us the top spot but the league is long and we will come back.
