The big news from today’s games is that our Ladies 1 team qualified for the Brabant Cup final with a fantastic 3-2 win at home vs Ottignies. This means they’ll play their first ever Brabant Cup final on March the 31st. Goals from Virginie, Isa and an o.g. put us in the driving seat. A big congratulations from all of FC Irlande to the players and coaching staff for a magnificent achievement.

Meanwhile in Nosseghem the mens teams were all in action. The firsts and thirds started off the day. with 12.30 kick offs.

The thirds continue their amazing season and bagged a well deserved 5-0 victory. The intensity was great from all the squad. That’s now 12 goals in the last 2 games! This weeks scorers were Marius (2), Ionut, Fearghal and Piet. The season keeps progressing but no other team seems to be able to remove them from that top spot.

At the same time on the top pitch, the first were putting in a poor performance against Choule. We dominated the majority of the game without creating many chances though. Choule on the other hand created nothing but got a goal on a counter with 10 minutes to go to kill us off.

The seconds were next up on the top pitch at 2PM. They played superbly against an always difficult Enghien team. They went 1-0 up through Thomas Stehli, in one of his last games for the club. They sealed the deal with 2 second half as Sean got 2 more goals to bag the 3 points and get back to winning ways.

The fourths had a very important bottom of the league clash vs Cosmos Molenbeek and seemed to be on track to getting the V, they were 3-1 up with 10 minutes to go. Unfortunately they conceded 3 avoidable goals and only come out of this one with a point. 2 goals from Andrea and one Mario were not enough.

Vets 1 who were struggling for numbers could not reiterate last weeks result and unfortunately lost 1-4 (goals from Carlos).

Vets 2 lost 0-3 with only 10 men. All the lads put in a great shift and they did not deserve going down like they did. They were 0-2 down after 10 minutes and only lost 0-3. Credit to them!

Ladies 2 did not have a game this weekend!

The firsts got the day started off away to an always very strong LXG side out by place Meiser.
It was a very good game between two very diametrically opposed footballing sides. Even if we were probably the best of the two teams we came away with a draw even if we should have had a penalty in the first half. It’s only fair to note the fantastic performance from the referee and the fair play that LXG players showed. Final score 0-0.

Our seconds seem to be in a bit of a rut at the moment after their unbelievable start to the season. They lost 0-2 away to New Arquois. What they have achieved so far in 2nd division is outstanding though. Their team spirit is really a model of team sports. Let’s hope their hard work pays off towards the end of the season and they get back ASAP to their winning ways.

Turds won 0-7 (seven) away to technically gifted Deaf Brussels. Goals by Sergiu and Marius Hagi (2 apiece), Pierre, Piet and Bruno made for a comfortable Saturday afternoon. It looks as if it’s going to be hard to stop François’ side this year as they are still top of the league of course. Come on you TURDS!

The fourths had a crucial bottom of the table battle away to Biergeois and the least that can be said is that they got the job done. They won 3-4 in a what turned out to be a bit of a rollercoaster game #Bierges. Up 0-3 at half time, they let there opposition get back into the game at 2-3 but then hit 5th gear again to bring 3 vital points back to the Funky from Walibi.

The last game today for our mens side was Vets 1 who again in a crucial match brought back 3 precious points from S.C.Campomaiorense. We don’t have much information at this moment in time as they are all probably half pissed in the bar and drinking Triple Karmeliets . But we do know that they won 0-3, hopefully they can keep up the good work and secure first division Vets football for next season.

Ladies 1 played last night and won comfortably against Saint Michel 5-0. Their push for the title is as strong as ever, let's hope they can keep the good form up keep on winning.
They face off in a historic cup semi-final next Saturday in Auderghem, no doubt that this result will boost their confidence for what will be a special moment for our FC Irlande Ladies!

Ladies 2 unfortunately lost in the last match this weekend with the legendary FCI green shirts 4-0.

Come on you Girls and Boys in green!

Chilly Day at Nossegem and performances matched the weather (27/1/18) Sticky

1sts were up againct British United who were in deep relegation trouble . We started well and Nick gave us the lead after a great move with Nair. 1 - 0 at the break and it should have been more. We increased our lead in the 2nd half when Mike O'Keefe scored. We were well on top and many chances went begging. About 5 mins from the end when we had been reduced to 10 men after Rich's red card they scored making it a nervy last few minutes. Final score 2-1. MOTM Nair

2nds were playing Wong and were eager to get back to winning ways. Despite domination from the first till the last minute of the game it ended 0 0.. Big chances in the last minutes that could have made the difference but unfortunately the luck was not on our side. The opponent offered a good fight in a friendly spirit but clearly came for the draw, as they celebrated like a victory after the final whistle. Last game for Jake as he moves to Bilbao and he was named captain and won the MOTM.

3rds game against British United was forfeited by the opposition as they were unable to field a team

4ths again came up short losing 2 1 to remain in deep trouble in the relegation zone.  Goal from Manuel. A great 1st half, and a crumbling team in 2nd half. Opponents scored on 2 freekicks and did not let the opportunity go away when they felt they had a shot. Guess it makes the difference.

Vets 1 had a tough task against Mutuelle ,one of the top teams in the division.  They started well and after 10 minutes it was pretty even but then in quick succession the opposition showed their class with 2 brilliant goals to put them 2 0 up. Game was very free flowing and we had chances to pull one back but couldn't quite manage to do it. In the 2nd half they again dominated and Karl had to pull off a number of good saves. We also had a couple of chances but there were no more goals and it ended 0-2.

Vets2 avenged a 7-1 thrashing at the hands of Higgins by winning the return leg after a great team performance. Vets2 went 2 up through MoTM Pietro (free kick sailing into the top corner) and Terry (after a great pull-back by Oscar) and could have had 2 more. Higgins got close after a great move but failed to capitalize. The second half was all about determination and fight, Higgins drew one back from a badly defended free but the men in green held out, great win, awesome team performance. Vets2 now close in on top 6

Ladies 1 had another comfortable win on a cold Friday night winning 6-1 away at Ottignies. Virg,Olivia and Isa amongst the scorers

1sts and 2nds games are off but Vets 1 gain vital victory (20.01.2018) Sticky

1sts and 2nds were due to play on the same pitch at Tourinnois but the ground was deemed unplayable and the matches were postponed.

3rds did play on a good day for playing football, snow, rain, cold...  and a good opposition... As we expected Trinquant was ready for this match,  and  us too in comparison to last week.  11 irish warriors on the pitch show a good football and a good spirit but the opposition punished us on one of our mistakes. The boys in green equalized on a nice move with a free kick as often: Rafa for Ionut...  1-1 and the second half start on the same level of intensity with a high pressure...  Unfortunately,  the tiredness appeared with 11 players versus 14 and they scored à second time on a confusing ball...  We pushed for the equalizer but the legs were not there and we can't finalize our greats moves...  Final score 2-1,  a defeat but a good match compared on last week...  MOTM Paddy,  great defense on his wing but normal,  it's his weather

4ths lost 1:0. Dominated the game: 14:3 shots on target and 9:1 corners but didn't find the back of the net. Opposition caught them with a long ball and a nice lob from outside the box.

Vets 1 had a vital game away to Trinquant . Strengthened at the last minute by Sigve and Darragh after the 1sts game was postponed a strong team took the field but within 5 minutes we were 1 0 down when they scored in the corner. We equalised when Sigve scored. Game was fairly even but we had chances, We then took the lead when Emanuel scored with a great shot . 2 1 at half time and we were looking to keep the momentum up in the 2nd half. The game then became a bit scrappy as both sides struggled to impose themselves. They lost a couple of good players to injury but we were not able to control the game. Captain David entered the game with about 20 minutes left to play and we became more settled. From a breakaway Ollie extended the lead but they scored from a great header and it was 3-2 with nerves jangling. With about 5 or 6 minutes left a good move resulted in Alex lobbing a great ball over the keeper but the defender handled on the line and it was a stonewall penalty. David gave the keeper no chance as he put it away to make it 4 2. Dave then replaced Ollie with a few minutes remaining  and a great move with Sigve breaking through the defence and squaring it to Dave who put Sigve through to score his 2nd and make the final score 5 2.  A vital win and a great team perfformance . MOTM Sasha.

Vets 2 earned a hard fought win under harsh circumstances, Oscar put Vets2 1 up, but a penalty and a shot from outside of the box meant Vets2 were 1 down suddenly. Oscar scored again to equalise. Second half yielded few chances but Oscar bagged a hattrick to put the men in green one up. Solid defending and a vital save by Ken secured the three points. Massive performance by all but Oscar was one again pick of the bunch, MoTM with 16 goals on the tally now!!!

Ladies 1 were playing BUFC Ladies at Stade Fallon and were 6 1 up at half time . Their goal had come from a bad defensive mistake. In the 2nd half we continued to dominate and the goals flowed but another defensive error left them in to score again. Final score 11 -2 with Isa starring by scoring 6 goals.

Ladies 2 played on Friday night and had tough opposition Etterbeek. They put in a brave performance but lost 4 1. Ellie scored the goal.

Jonathan Wogan remembered on chilly day at Nossegem (13/01/2018) Sticky

A minute's silence was observed at all matches today in remembrance of Jonathan Wogan, our former player and ex captain of the 2nd team. who died tragically in Thailand just before Christmas.

The 1sts were first up and a 1st half performance showed a lot of rustiness after the break and we were1 0 down at half time . Despite  having a lot of pressure the equaliser seemed out of reach until a frantic 5 minutes saw 2 penalities awarded to us. Sigve dispatched the 1st one without problem and our tails were up as we went after the winner. A few minutes later another penalty was given with less than 3 minutes left to play. Up stepped Sigve again but this time his shot was saved and the game ended 1-1

2nds had a good squad as they took on Azur. A good game with plenty of chances but no goals ended 0-0.

3rds returned to the battlefield after a 1 month break to keep the victories going...  But directly we saw that the opposition will not give us the point.  The match started slowly without so many opportunities for both side,  but Black Star control more the ball than us...  The second part start with two changes Gregor and Youssef in, but the opposition scored fast with a nice move...  Irish lads decide immediately to play finally football,  with more pressure and push highter but their keeper stopped all our long shots..  After a great opportunity from Piet,  several corners gave us the hope to come back, and 5 mins before the end of the match Stefan put one of them on the head of Ionut and Gregor push the ball in..   1-1 final score and a good point when you see the match...  MOTM Gregor....  We have to show more things next week

4ths lost 1-2 in a weird game. Leading 1-0 after a penalty stopped but well followed by Manu. 1-1 after a good rush from a fresh player. And 1-2 after a penalty stopped by Matteo but well followed by the opponent. The ref wanted to be a part of it and played his part perfectly: 6 yellows + 2 direct reds. Great 1st half, lots of movement and good mindset and opportunities. 2nd half saw us drop on fitness and nerves. MOTM: David with a great performance as right back

Vets1 were unlucky, again, to lose 2-3. Went 1 down early, poor goal, got on top & should have had a penalty, promptly conceded another poor goal. Emmet got one back just after half time, pushed but couldn't get equaliser, gave away another poor goal. Ollie then scored after great work by Emmet but we couldn't get the equaliser. Too many mistakes, story of the season.  Vital game next week against Trinquant

Vets 2 ,with captain Bart absent through illness, had a good squad in their match against Ent RACB. We started brightly and Pascal scored a great goal when he chipped the keeper from over 20 metres out. We soon followed with another goal as a shot from Oscar managed to squirm under the keeper's body and we were 2 0 up.. Looking good and playing well but just before the break things took a dramatic turn when they equalised with 2 quick goals to make it 2-2 at the break. 2nd half we had a couple of chances to go ahead again but the opposition scored to take the lead. Game was fairly even with a couple of chances for either side but they scored  again to make it 4 2 and that was game over. MOM Roberto

In the late games at Auderghem Ladies 1 won 10 0 against the bottom side RJ Wavre while. Ladies 2 lost 0 - 2 against Jodoigne B
