1sts win hard fought game with late goal,2nds get another win (Results 23/09/2017) Sticky

1sts won 1-0 . Good performance overall . Had the upper hand and should have scored more. Mike O'Keefe came off the bench  and scored the winner 10 minutes before the end.

2nds kept up their unbeaten record with their 4th win in a row beating Azur 2-0. We conceded a penalty after about 15 minutes but they missed it and soon after we took the lead when Sean crossed a loverly ball into the middle and Neil scored to make it 1-0. It was  a fairly even game and there were chances at both ends. Nerves were settled when Tim,in his first full game since he returned to the club, scored a great goal to make it 2-0. 4 wins out of 4 and no goals conceded . Great stuff guys !!

3rds had an easy game winning 5 0. Goals by Ionut (3),AJ and Rodrigo. 1st half we dominated and scored 2 goals. 2nd half the opposition were very poor and we scored 3 more goals. Nothing much more to say when your opponent shows no real desire to play football. Good to get back to winning ways. MOTM Ionut

4ths were playing top of the league and managed a 0-0 draw. Not a bad performance at all. In saying that we had good chances to score . Still looking forward to our 1st win. Next week ?

Vets 1 had a great chance to get their first win of the season when they played Azur . We started quite well and there were some good chances created . The opposition  also had some very good chances to score and hit the woodwork . In a crazy 7 or 8 minutes 3 goals were scored. We opened the scoring when Carlos headed in but they equalised almost immediately. We came back and scored a 2nd when David Rubio hit a looping shot into the top corner. 2-1 at half time and we were in the driving seat. At the very start of the 2nd half we could have put the game to bed when a shot nearly went in. Azur then upped their game and scored an equaliser to make it 2 2. Game on again and we fell fruther behind when a breakaway goal made it 3-2 for them and that was how it finished. Disappointing not to get anything from the game.

Vets 2

Ladies 1 and Ladies 2 are playing on Sunday.

Weekend Results (16/09/2017) Ladies 1 and the 2nds go top of their divisions Sticky

1sts drew 1-1 against old rivals La Lorraine. It was certainly a game of 2 halves. In the 1st half we were bright and looked as if we could score a few goals . We did score a good goal when Tommy got the end of a very good move and finished with aplomb. 2 in 2 for Tommy now. There's no stopping him !!The 2nd half was a different story as we seemed to lose our way and conceded the initiative to the opposition. Some sloppy play led to their equaliser and then they moved up a gear and took control of the game. Some brilliant saves by Darragh kept us in the game and it ended 1-1. MOTM Darragh with 14 votes

2nds got their 3rd win in a row when they beat Euro Union away 2-0 .Game 3 was a really physical team home-based in Ixelles, so it wasn't a long-way trip for the Seconds.
The game was really tough, the first half and we had to dig deep. Disciplined in defence, we kept our shape and stayed compact. Our defense and midfield made a great job containing the attacks from the opponents, and eventually they did not create any danger for Antonio. The good synchronization of the defense and the midfield brought the first half of the game to a fair 0-0.
The second half of the game started with Euro Union making a high pressure for the first ten minutes, but the boys in green kept calm and showed all their fighting spirit. At the minutes 12, a great assist by our captain Alex let Sean in front of the keeper of Union, and with a cold touch he scored, 0-1.Five minutes later Sean scored again with an impressive header thanks to a beautiful corner delivered by Mike, 0-2. The Seconds played well then, using the counters and there were some occasions missed again for the boys in green to make the score even bigger. In the last minutes a great saved by Antonio (who touched the ball, deviating it to the post) made another clean sheet possible for the team.
Great attitude and fighting spirit showed by the Seconds. Let's keep this pace, this is just the beginning.

3rds  lost 2-1 against à very compact team who are used to playing  on this particular pitch...  They scored the first goal from a  corner with à head in top left corner of the net..   We equalized in second half with à corner from Stefan  and à goal from Youssef...  We have try to put à second goal and push but They scored in the last minute with an other header.  Not the worst match but the pitch was certainly a factor in the result...  Motm Nicolas and Ronan

4ths also lost . Game was marred by a bad injury to Gerardo who suffered a suspected broken leg. It was his first game for the Club as well so we wish him all the best in his recovery and hope to see him back on the pitch soon.  We did not play well and the final score was 0-3.

Vets 1 drew 0-0

Vets 2  had total domination in the first half but yielded only one goal, Oscar heading home after Michael P 's header hit the crossbar. The second half was poor from Irlande's perspective though Alex could have sealed the game after a great break. It was backs to the wall for most of the second half but the Irish defence stood tall. Vets2 are now off the mark. MoTM was Jörg.

Ladies 1 - It was not the best of starts as we conceded to go 1 0 down after 15 mins. They scored another to make it 2 0 and we were in trouble. We battled back and just before the break Isa went down the left and crossed to Virg to reduce the arrears to 2-1 with a great strike. Another chance just before the break and we nearly equalised. 2-1 down at half time and we were back in the game. in the 2nd half we dominated and Aurelie equalised from a corner before Celine scored the winner. 3-2 final score. Great result and great fighting spirit to turn the game around.

Ladies 2 - After their victory last week they continued their good form and made it a double with a 4 0 victory. to round off a great Saturday night at Auderghem . It wasn't easy in the beginning of the first half but the team kept believing . This gave us the first goal by Celine after 15 minutes followed by Melo. Second half the team was relaxed and played their football. This gave us several occasions with two great goals by Fanni and Nawal.

Saturdays matches Sticky

First up in Nosseghem today were 1sts and 3rds.

The firsts had a roller coaster of a game. Going 2 nil up after 5 minutes, then going 2-3 down! Vincent who finished MOTM then leveled the game just before half time. The second 35 minutes were a lot more one sided for the boys in green. The match finished with a tennis score of 6 (six) to 4 (four). Thats 3 out of 6 for the firsts who play away to La Lorraine next week.

The 3rds continued their perfect start and won 2-0 in another battle with old foes Sicula. FCI3 took the lead early with a glancing header from Ionut saved by their keeper but poked home by Marius. In the second half we put the game to bed with a similar goal from a free kick, flicked on and this time finished by Villu. The remainder was heated with plenty of exchanges on and off the ball but FCI came out on top both physically and mentally.

2nds and 4ths.

Next up on Centre Court were the 2nds who battled hard to win 4-0 against a good Ettekijs side. The scoreline does not reflect the game as this was a tougher contest than the final score would have you believe. We scored at the right time and whenever the opposition looked like coming back into the game we added another. A brace from Sean added to Lewis and Stepan's goals. A good start for the seconds in their new division with 6 out of 6.

Our 4th team did well too coming back from two nil down at the half to draw 2 all. Remi bagged two headers to secure their second point. Not bad for the smallest guy on the pitch, he also go MOTM unsurprisingly!

More news will follow about the vets games but we can already announce that the news is not great, the 1st vets lost 1-8 to a very good Gast side. They had started brightly by taking the lead through forever young Ben. But Gast proved to be a very tough cookie and are a class too high for us at the moment.

Vets 2 also lost 1-3 to Etincelles.

Ladies 2 play tomorrow away to Chastres, let's wish them well in P2.

1st ladies show how it should be done Sticky

Our title contending 1st team ladies got their season off to the best of starts by beating Berchem on what was a pretty damp Friday night here in Brussels. They came in at the half leading by two goals to none. This meant they could enjoy the second half and play their beautiful flowing football which the supporters and coaches loved.

When the final whistle was blown the score was eight to nil to our fabulous girls in green.

The goals were scored by:  Isa, Aurélie, Virginie (2 each) and Julianna, Rossa.

Let’s wish them good luck in their quest to achieve promotion to D2!

The second ladies team play Sunday morning, it will be their first game in P2 whilst all our mens teams play Saturday afternoon in Nosseghem.
Hopefully this result will inspire our other teams to victory too.

MIxed Start to the New Season (02/09/2017) Sticky

1sts after having a very good pre-season were hopeful of a good start to the campaign.against old rivals LTC. Started fairly brightly but it was LTC who got the goal in the 1st half to lead at the break. We pressed hard in the 2nd half but couldn't get the equaliser so the game  finished 0-1. Disappointing start but hopefully we will bounce back next week to get our season going.

2nds,after their great promotion win last year were playing in Div 2 for the first time in 4 seasons. Our cause was helped by the opposition only having 9 at the start of the game although they got another player in the 1st half. We comfortably scored 2 goals in fairly quick succession to put the game to bed. At the final whistle it was 4-0 and a great start to the season.

3rds had an epic match. Starting the game 3 players short including captain and keeper Francois was not the ideal situation.  The response though from the team was great  and Paddy went in as  keeper. When the 3 players arrived after 7 or 8 minutes  the team pushed to show what we will do this season...  The first goal arrived with a throw in from Villu,  à  home speciality, and Youssef scored... The second one with à great shot from Youssef blocked but finished with a cracker into the corner of the net from Ronan...  2-0...  Motm were Ronan and Rodrigo but we can also mention Villu for his work and Mike for his mentality....  Winning the first match was a really great performance

4ths,strengthened by the inclusion of Robbie and Danny, were leading 3-2 until the final minutes but were pegged back by a late equaliser to make it 3-3 at the close.

Vets 1 were putting in a good performance leading 1-0 until the last 5 minutes but then it all went wrong when the opposition scored 3 late goals including a penalty to take the spoils. MOM David MG

Vets 2 started well against Chenois and took the lead after about 12 minutes. Things looked good but in the last 15 minutes of the 1st half the opposition began to dominate and they equalised with a penalty . In the 2nd half they again held the initiative and added 2 more goals to run out 3-1 winners.
