Ladies 1 win Cup game on another day when all men's games were postponed Sticky

Ladies 1 won 0-4 in the Cup 2nd round . Before the game a minute's silence was held for Jonathan Wogan , our former player, who died tragically a couple of weeks ago.  The 1st half was complicated, we tested a new system and they were fighting well. Rossa scored the first with  a header on a corner in first half.  Myriam came in for the last 20', and scored 2 goals. Virg scored the last one to make it a comfortable victory.

Ladies P1 Game vs RAS Jodoigne postponed Sticky

This morning's top of the table game between FCI Ladies 1 and RAS Jodoigne was postponed due to the heavy snow. A pity for the team as they had made the long journey to Jodoigne and had to wait for an hour before the game was eventually called off.

3rds stay top after strong performance, bad day at the office for the 1sts and 2nds (09/12/2017) Sticky

1sts knew thay had to win to keep up their challenge at the top but it went the wrong way when we were beaten 2 0. We had started brightly and should have scored at least 1 early on but the opposition took the lead and we went in at the break 1 0 down. We couldn't really get any fluency in our game and the pressure grew as we tried to get back in the game.  Another breakaway saw them scored their 2nd and there was no way back as we slumped to a disappointing 2 0 defeat.

2nds battled hard against a very physical team. We gave away a poor goal inside the first 10 minutes, but gradually grew in to the game. The second half was a completely one sided affair with FC Irlande playing on the front foot and taking the game to the opposition. The effort paid dividends midway through the 2nd half as Gaby put in a magnificent cross, which Hans somehow bundled across the goal line. Unfortunately, parity didn't last very long as we conceded another poor goal from a set piece almost immediately after equalizing. A disappointing 2-1 loss, but plenty of positives to take away from the game.

3rds were playing the last match of our marathon against top league challengers in what proved to be a very physical match vs Virginal... But the boys in green started very good the match with a strong intensity like always now. After a flowing move, a delicate lay off from Ionut and Rafa sent a strong shot first time in off the post for the first goal. Second half start and we soon made it 2, with AJ chasing down a pass back to their keeper who made a poor clearance straight to Sergiu who launched a long shot over the hapless keeper. To finish them off, Ionut put in a dangerous cross from the left for Piet to finish well at the far post. Final score 3-0 and we're now sure to be top of the league for christmas! Rafa MOTM, VAMOS!!

4ths,despite having a strong team , went down to a heavy defeat by 4 goals to nil.

Vets1 drew 1-1,goal from Emmet. Very unlucky not to win against feisty opposition who should have had at least one red card. Missed four great 2nd half chances to win it & must have had 80% of possession.

Vets2 had a great result with MoTM Oscar Sanchez scoring 5 in a comprehensive 6-1 win over a weakened Tigre side. An early lead through Pascal was followed by a spell of truly abysmal football before Oscar's first settled nerves just before half time. The second half was one way traffic with Oscar right and left foiling and heading in 4 more goals. Could have been more even. Shame the fourth consecutive clean sheet was squandered, all in all a great day at the office. Vets2 are now sixth in the league

Ladies 2 were playing at Stockel late on Saturday evening. Temperature was barely above freezing but the girls in green warmed the supporters hearts as they played a great 1st half and led 3 1 at the break. 2nd half was  a bit tighter as there were good chances for both sides. Stockel scored with a great shot that gave Mariana no chance and the last 20 minutes we managed to avoid any further goals and ran out 3-2 winners.

Ladies 1 play the top of the table Jodoigne tomorrow (Sunday) at 11.15. Promises to be a great match where we will try to get back in 1st place.

1sts and 3rds gain important victories (02.12.2017) Sticky

1sts were playing away against MTM in Rosieres. We started well and had a couple of chances but after 25 minutes it was the opposition who took the lead when they scored after a breakaway. Their lead didn't last long as Nair sent over a great corner and Nick headed in to make it 1-1. We were playing well but MTM always looked dangerous . Just before the break they took the lead again when their forward was allowed to chest down the ball and setup a shot into the corner to make it 2-1 at half time. Poor goal to concede. After the break we again equalised when Sigve put Nick through one on one and he calmly slotted it into the corner to make it 2-2. All 3 subs came on and about 5 -10 minutes from the end we got the winner when they gave the ball away and Karim scored. Last few minutes were tense as they went for the equaliser but we held out and took home a valuable 3 points.

2nds drew 1-1 in a tightly contested game out in chilly Rixensart. After conceding cheaply inside the first 15 minutes we responded just before half time through Sean after good work by Neil. Decent result but we felt we could have got more out of the game. Goal: Sean. Booked: Thomas Earl, Euan.

3rds were engaged in a top of the table clash against Sicula . The home game in Nossegem was marred with a lot of fouls and we were pleased to see that a top referee had been assigned to the return  match. Both teams started well and the game was played at a fast pace. After 12 minutes we were awarded a penalty which Stefan dispatched giving the keeper no chance. 1- 0 and that's how it stayed at half time. Rodrigo came on for Gregor and the 2nd half was very much like the first with the two teams battling away and chances at either end. Francois made a number of great saves. Quite a few yellow cards were shown and one of their players got a red but the referee had a firm control of the game. Less than 10 minutes from the end nerves were eased when the ball was crossed to top scorer Ionut in the box and he made no mistake to put us 2 up. More chances for us with Sergiu rattling the crossbar to nearly make it 3. Final score 0-2 and we now go 5 points clear at the top. Great team spirit again with everybody fighting for every ball as if their life depended upon it.

4ths were very focused, concentrated and agressive to draw against the top of the league. We played very tight and defended very well. On top of that we had a wall as keeper so the opponent had no chance to score. We could have lost that fight at the last second but our keeper saved a penalty. On the other hand we had 2-3 nice counter-attaks in the last 10 minutes that could have also brought us the 3 points. At the end, well deserved point that will count at the end!!”................

Vets1 lost 6:4. First half to forget. At 5 1 down at half time  the machine started to roll in the 2nd half  and  had it lasted 90 minutes, we might have drawn. Ollie  and Emanuel (2 goals each). Great spirit in 2nd half.  MOTM Emanuel.

Vets2 put in a very solid performance to earn a draw away at league leaders Etincelle. Great effort by the entire team. Luuk could have nicked a winner late in  the second but a draw was just reward in the end for a good tactical performance, hard work and effort. MoTM Pietro for a very good display at left full. Good displays by debut man Patrick and surprise guest Antonio Nobre

Ladies 1 won 4 1. Very good 1st half. 3 0 at half time. 2nd half was less intense where we were mostly in control  also because of the cold. Big game next week against RAS Jodoigne.

Ladies 2 played later in the  evening at Auderghem and were involved in another thrilling game. They faced a good opponent Chastres at home. After 15minutes it was 1-1. The team spirit was there and ladies were dominating the game with a great 5-1. But at the end Chastres came back and the game ended 5-5. Great spirit and great game!
