Our second team ladies got their season off to the best of starts by bringing back all 3 points from Chastres.
After a few minutes we scored the first goal and got the second one at the end of the first half.
In the second hall we scored another one on a penalty. We played really well against a good team! Th goals were scored by Myriam, Isabel and Stéphanie.

Next up Stockel at home next week.

Saturdays matches Sticky

First up in Nosseghem today were 1sts and 3rds.

The firsts had a roller coaster of a game. Going 2 nil up after 5 minutes, then going 2-3 down! Vincent who finished MOTM then leveled the game just before half time. The second 35 minutes were a lot more one sided for the boys in green. The match finished with a tennis score of 6 (six) to 4 (four). Thats 3 out of 6 for the firsts who play away to La Lorraine next week.

The 3rds continued their perfect start and won 2-0 in another battle with old foes Sicula. FCI3 took the lead early with a glancing header from Ionut saved by their keeper but poked home by Marius. In the second half we put the game to bed with a similar goal from a free kick, flicked on and this time finished by Villu. The remainder was heated with plenty of exchanges on and off the ball but FCI came out on top both physically and mentally.

2nds and 4ths.

Next up on Centre Court were the 2nds who battled hard to win 4-0 against a good Ettekijs side. The scoreline does not reflect the game as this was a tougher contest than the final score would have you believe. We scored at the right time and whenever the opposition looked like coming back into the game we added another. A brace from Sean added to Lewis and Stepan's goals. A good start for the seconds in their new division with 6 out of 6.

Our 4th team did well too coming back from two nil down at the half to draw 2 all. Remi bagged two headers to secure their second point. Not bad for the smallest guy on the pitch, he also go MOTM unsurprisingly!

More news will follow about the vets games but we can already announce that the news is not great, the 1st vets lost 1-8 to a very good Gast side. They had started brightly by taking the lead through forever young Ben. But Gast proved to be a very tough cookie and are a class too high for us at the moment.

Vets 2 also lost 1-3 to Etincelles.

Ladies 2 play tomorrow away to Chastres, let's wish them well in P2.

1st ladies show how it should be done Sticky

Our title contending 1st team ladies got their season off to the best of starts by beating Berchem on what was a pretty damp Friday night here in Brussels. They came in at the half leading by two goals to none. This meant they could enjoy the second half and play their beautiful flowing football which the supporters and coaches loved.

When the final whistle was blown the score was eight to nil to our fabulous girls in green.

The goals were scored by:  Isa, Aurélie, Virginie (2 each) and Julianna, Rossa.

Let’s wish them good luck in their quest to achieve promotion to D2!

The second ladies team play Sunday morning, it will be their first game in P2 whilst all our mens teams play Saturday afternoon in Nosseghem.
Hopefully this result will inspire our other teams to victory too.

MIxed Start to the New Season (02/09/2017) Sticky

1sts after having a very good pre-season were hopeful of a good start to the campaign.against old rivals LTC. Started fairly brightly but it was LTC who got the goal in the 1st half to lead at the break. We pressed hard in the 2nd half but couldn't get the equaliser so the game  finished 0-1. Disappointing start but hopefully we will bounce back next week to get our season going.

2nds,after their great promotion win last year were playing in Div 2 for the first time in 4 seasons. Our cause was helped by the opposition only having 9 at the start of the game although they got another player in the 1st half. We comfortably scored 2 goals in fairly quick succession to put the game to bed. At the final whistle it was 4-0 and a great start to the season.

3rds had an epic match. Starting the game 3 players short including captain and keeper Francois was not the ideal situation.  The response though from the team was great  and Paddy went in as  keeper. When the 3 players arrived after 7 or 8 minutes  the team pushed to show what we will do this season...  The first goal arrived with a throw in from Villu,  à  home speciality, and Youssef scored... The second one with à great shot from Youssef blocked but finished with a cracker into the corner of the net from Ronan...  2-0...  Motm were Ronan and Rodrigo but we can also mention Villu for his work and Mike for his mentality....  Winning the first match was a really great performance

4ths,strengthened by the inclusion of Robbie and Danny, were leading 3-2 until the final minutes but were pegged back by a late equaliser to make it 3-3 at the close.

Vets 1 were putting in a good performance leading 1-0 until the last 5 minutes but then it all went wrong when the opposition scored 3 late goals including a penalty to take the spoils. MOM David MG

Vets 2 started well against Chenois and took the lead after about 12 minutes. Things looked good but in the last 15 minutes of the 1st half the opposition began to dominate and they equalised with a penalty . In the 2nd half they again held the initiative and added 2 more goals to run out 3-1 winners.
