Vitamin D doing its work. Vets1 almost safe. Sticky

Mar

Firsts beat bottom of the league Enghien 7-0. Enghien is now relegated. It was 3-0 at half time and they lost their best player right before the break. The second half was one way traffic with a chance every minute. It should have been 25-0. Goals by Ross (3), Vince, Rutger, Mike and Sigve (pen).

Seconds beat Woluwe 4-0 to extend their winning-streak to 12(!) games. Goals by Nick (2), Rado and Abdel (putting a corner straight in). The division 3C champions also keep their spot at the top of all of abssa.

Thirds won 1-0 against the team just ahead of them in a very physical game. The goal came from Stefan putting away a penalty won by Ionut.

Vets1 lost 0-2 against a very good team. But since the Brits lost as well, they are very close to securing an extended stay in Division 1.

Vets 2 won 2-1. No further information available at this time.

Ladies 1 beat Eva's Tirlemont 1-5 yesterday evening. The ladies played sine great football, helped by their brilliant support. Goals from Sofie, Paola (pen), Isa (powerful header), Aurelie, Céline.

Ladies 2 play tomorrow.

Fourths didn't have a game.

Vets1 gain their 1st win in great victory (18/3/2017) Sticky

Mar

After 21 games Vets1 got their first win of the season. 8-2 no less against really good opponents Trinquant, a great group of lads. Congratulations to captain David Martin Garcia, a true club legend. It was no coincidence that he was on the pitch for this win, we have really missed him. Sigve Dyrnes (on Loan from the 1sts) with 4, Ben Nupnau with 3 & guess who's back Stevie Byrne with his first goal since his comeback. . On this display we are a worthy division1 team.

Vets 2 won 3-0 with a hat trick from Oscar Sanchez de Leon but it should have been a more emphatic victory. We created a lot of chances in the 1st half but with a bit of bad luck and over elaborate play we were only leading 1 0 at the break. More chances arrived in the 2nd half and we managed to score 2 more goals whilst missing a few more good chances. Winning streak continues. 5 in a row now.

1sts lost 1-2, Ross with the goal. 2nds won their 12th in a row, goals from Hans Lauwers (not a penalty) & Radovan Bardák.

3rds drew 1-1 in a tight game against St Georges. Ionut equalised in the 2nd half. Good fighting performance..

4ths got their revenge after the 4-1 loss at home by beating Tricoteuses 3-0. Comprehensive win against a team that was still looking for promotion with 2 goals from Thibault and 1 from Remi. A special note to the excellent work from our defensive players who kept their prolific offense quiet.

Ladies P1 win against Gooik 2-1 (0-0). Goals by Isa and Virg. 3 very important points to keep high in the table. Ladies 2 had no game this weekend.

2nds clinch title after New Inn lose (11/03/2017) Sticky

Mar
11

2nds are CHAMPIONS of Div 3C. After their feisty encounter at Nossegem where they beat Iris United 3-2 news came in that New Inn had surprisingly lost and we were champions and promoted to Div 2 next year. Congratulations to John and the squad for a tremendous season. Still 4 games left to enjoy ,scoring more goals and winning all the matches.

The game itself ebbed and flowed with Iris taking a surprising lead to go 1 0 up. Didn't take us long to equalise when Euan scored with a great header into the top corner. Top scorer Nick then swept in following a fine move and we were in the ascendancy to be 2 1 up at half time.  Couldn't put our superiority into goals on the board and then they surprisingly equalised and so it became quite tense , Substitute Abdel then put us ahead following a great move. Moment of the match came when Iris were awarded a dubious penalty. A well struck shot was saved brilliantly by Antonio and game ended with a 3 2 victory and Antonio being named MOTM.

1sts were up against Portugal 2nd in the league and took the lead when Karim crossed for Ross to finish well with his 16th of the season. We led with this score until well into the 2nd half but Portugal always looked dangerous when they came forward and they equalised with about 15 minutes left. Not long afterwards a controversial penalty was awarded against Sigve when he tackled their forward in the box . With this being converted we were now 2 1 down with less than 10 minutes left and it looked as if it was game over but we plugged away and just before the end Karim got a deserved equaliser

3rds were unable to keep up their long winning run losing 3 1 to leaders Brussels British. 4ths had a great win by 5 goals to 2 to continue their climb up the table.

Vets 1 ,still trying for their 1st win of the season, faced old rivals Metrasport who are in the top half of the table. It was another disappointing day as we lost 3 1 . Opposition are a very skilful side with some ex pros in their ranks and it was difficult to get hold of the ball for long periods. Score was 2 0 at half time including a penalty. In the 2nd half they added a third and as time was running out Greg pulled one back as a consolation. With the Brits Vets also losing it looks as if it will go to the wire as to who will be relegated with 3 points separating the 2 teams.

Vets 2 continued their recent winning run with another win against Higgins by 1 0.

Ladies 1  won away against Wezemaal 0-3 (0-3). Goals by Clelia, Virg and Paola. Special thanks to Selinde, Marion and Valeria who showed up and played to save of from playing on with 10 ladies. Great weather and an enjoyable match - a very special moment to share as it was Colleen's last game with us... for now

Ladies 2 were also on the winning trail with a 3 2 victory with all 3 goals scored by Melodie.
