In the battlefield of the city of Forest with the Audi factory on the background the soldiers of FC Irlande went out to fight against Forestois FC the bottoms ranked army of the league that was not to be underestimated though .
But that’s what our soldiers did.
Windy conditions, sloppy touches and not being able to kick out the ball from their premises led to a penalty on the corner of the box by a touch on the opponent’s leg .
1-0 for them in the first quarter.
Tough start and we needed to turn things around .
Greens progressed through the battlefield and created some chances.
A bit before half time a shot from Gabi hit the post and Lolo took the rebound equalizing the game !
HT and a Max’s amazing save with the 1-1 on back allowed the Greens to calm down and chase the win in the second.
Second half and sloppy touches still continued and opponents thought they could win something of the game.
But an attack from the left side with Lolo making a cross resulted in an own goal and the 1-2 . This allowed the Greens to now play the game and do some nice combinations and create some chances. Some poor choices though and the absence of luck (Jaret’s shot on the post) still kept them in the game.
Corner kick for Greens just some minutes later with Lolo trying again to score but again the ball not doing the favour for him.
Well kicked, surprised the keeper and the ball bounced on Jamie’s shoulder (almost punctured) making the 1-3.
And that basically made the Greens that they would win this war without any more resistance. But NO !
Who wants an easy last part of game ?
A mistake in the middle the opponents counter atttacked and scored the 2-3 putting some pressure in the last minutes .
Team received some pressures but managed to keep the win !!
A performance not up to the standards of the Green with the last of the table but +3 points and still in the chase of the title 🏆
MOTM: LOLO
On a warmer and sunny afternoon FC Irelande stepped out confidently on the home pitch against Forestois.
Our defensive line held down the opponents to nearly zero opportunities to score. The midfield was quite efficient finding in incisive passes over and under the lines of the opposing side.
In the first half, a beautiful through ball into was played into Lolo where he found himself 1 on 1 against their keeper, however he selflessly placed right into Jaret to put up FC Irelande 1-0.
Shortly after the break, Jouke placed a great ball in between their defence’s high line leading to Jaret chipping the keeper. 2-0.
Overall, we had many opportunities to further the lead but left with another win this weekend.
